Screen saver in LCD Monitor

backlight of your lcd-monitor. So you are better off to use the
auto-powerdown features of your system then a screensaver.



Isn't this something that can be done on the same screen as the "Select
Screensaver" screen? I don't bother with screensavers - I set up my
system to turn the monitor off after 10 minutes of inactivity (the whole
screen goes dark, the only power getting used is to keep the amber LED lit).

I think the screen saver will help to reduce the damage to CRT monitor
if the monitor has to be switched on for a longer time. The mechanism
behind
the formation of images on a LCD monitor is completely different. Would the
screen saver still help the LCD monitor if I have to let the LCD monitor on
for
a longer time?

With LCD, you are saving the backlight bulb... They don't last
forever!

Still, the BEST screen saver is to turn the monitor OFF when you walk
away from the PC.

How's the lifetime of the backlight tube? If the image is always on the
same location, will it damage the color dot on the panel.
