Default Athlon 64 3000+ Stock Fan Issue

When the fan on my A64 3000+ goes over 5000 RPM, it starts to make a strange
scratching/scraping sound. Has anybody else experienced this? Should I be
concerned?

Thanks for your help,
A

Over 5000? Mine doesn't get near that high. It's a Delta AFB0712HHB fan,
rated at 4300RPM at 13v.

If you mean did it come with the cooler, yes. Of course you have to take
it off to see the delta label and P/N on the other side of the fan.

Thanks. I'm going to buy an Athlon 64 soon: I was hoping it would come with
something slower and quieter.
