Default Travel Mate 506DX won't boot--help

I've got a Travel Mate 506 that won't boot. All it does is power on, beep 4
times and shut off. Does anybody know whats wrong, and a possible
correction??

Thanks, Bob

The battery is stuffed. To verify this take out battery and run the notebook
on AC, if it works fine buy a new battery. If it still beeps then something
else is wrong with it
