Default Mpeg2 Decoding for Linux

Forgive me if this is a common question,
but has anyone heard any promising movement
that Nvidia will activate the mpeg2 decoder
present in many of their MX/FX cards with
their Linux drivers?

I know they have XvMC support, which helps,
but it seems a shame to not have the full
capability of the card available.

Brian
