GA-6VX7B-4X ~ Computer starts but no POST and STR LED on.

Help,

I recently acquired a GA-6VX7B-4X motherboard on e-bay but after careful
installation it seems that it won't even show anything on a known to be
working graphics card and monitor. However there is a light for the Suspend
to RAM function but no action beyond that.

Has anyone come across this problem before or have I bought a dud.

Your comments/suggestions welcome.
