Default replacing stock heatsink and fan for chipset....

Ive bought a new heatsink and fan for my chip on the ga-7dxr, and was
thinking about how to remove the old heatsink?- it isnt fixed to the mb as
it slides if i push it to one side. it is however stuck to the chip as when
i pull on it to take it off, i encounter some resistance... any ideas as to
remove it with out pulling off the chip at the same time?
TIA
Raj
