I know there are several comparison questions on here. I would intend on
using it on a 22" widescreen LCD @ 1680x1050, with moderate gaming.

On one hand, you have an 8800 series with 320MB of video RAM, and the other
is a 9600 series with 512MB of video RAM. Which would get better FPS, given
there were no other bottlenecks at 1680x1050?

The 9600GT 512Mb is superior to an older 320Mb 8800GTS. If it was a 640Mb
version for the same price I'd consider. Maybe. But the 9600GT is a superior
card. The OC versions run basically the same as a stock G92 8800GT 512Mb. At
1680x1050 gaming, you're going to want more than 256Mb in modern and
upcoming titles.

That's what I suspected. I thought maybe on a 19" screen or smaller, that
8800 320 would work fine, but on a larger screen, I thought that actually
that 320MB of video RAM would bottleneck the rest of the video card.
