Default BFG 8600 GTS...will it improve my system?

Saw the BFG GeForce 8600 GTS OC Thermo Intelligence Video Card (256MB
GDDR3) PCI Express card for $80 after rebate.

Will it work in & improve my current system?

Current video card is an ATI 700Pro 256MB (PCIE), intel 915PBL motherboard,
Intel 4 Pentium 3.2ghz., 3 gig ram.

Thanks

Yes, a large amount. An X700 Pro is not as good as a 9800 Pro or a 6600GT
for 3D. The 8600GTS OC series are fairly decent perfromers compared to the
rest of the 8600 family. Just don't expect to doing Crysis at 1280x1024.

They do play a mean game of UT3 at 1440x900 though.
