Default Audio Card

Hi,
I'm thinking of replacing my audio card, Soundblaster live! Value, with
something better in quality and flexibility. I mean, it should recognize
many arbitrary frequency bands in the audio spectrum so that the
amplification over each particular band may be independently set.
A Digitalized Sound Card seems to be the way to go. But which one? Maybe:

Would like to hear any comments from experts.

Thanks in advance.
