Is there a web site that explains in simple English the differences
between the Intel E4300, E4400, E6320, and E6420? Dell's "Help Me
Choose" is, of course, useless. Thanks!

Thanks Robert. For "normal" (non-gaming) use, are the differences in
CPU speed or bus speed or cache size significant?

200mhz difference in speed isn't going to matter much. The large
caches and higher fsb might be a major plus in a game.

For basic word processing, internet, music playing and dvds, any of
those chips will work just fine. You can do all of these things on a
Pentium 3, and even many Pentium 2s. All but the dvds can be done on a
pentium 1. Subtract music at the 486 level, and the internet at the
386 level.

I think that in addition to the table below, the 2000 and 4000 series
has some additional "defeaturing" of the instruction set relative to the
6000 family (I believe that some of the virtualization capabilities are
missing).

The 6600 has long been considered the most desirable of the "low cost"
processors (going above that gets you to a $500 or $1000 range CPU), but
the 6420 is a good second choice.

Have you tried Intel.com? I'd start looking there.
