Default AMD Athlon 64 Price drops and ADA3500AS Retail Box

Recently there have been dramatic price drops for the AMD Athlon 64
3500 CPU's

However, there is the old ADA3500AS Clawhammer version, and it is
still selling close to $200.00. The newer 3500 venus core is close to
$100.

Does anybody know why this old version, which is running at higher
temperature, is selling substantially higher compared to the new venus
core?
