Default GA-8KNXP Rev 2 LAN problem

If I disable the onboard LAN in the BIOS it also disables the Gigaraid
controller although the Gigaraid controller indicates enabled . Any idea
why?

I have the same board.
Windows may bypass BIOS and detect hardware on it's own.
You can always disable the LAN controller in the Windows Hardware Manager.
