ram problem
Hi all,
I have an Abit SA7 Motherboard with a P4 2.4 Ghz processor and 512Mb of 2700 333Mhz DDR ram (I'm running at 533Mhz) It would appear that the correct DRAM ratio to set would be 4:5, i.e. (133/4)*5= 166.25 *2 = 332.5 Mhz forums seem to agree that that's the speed 2700 ram should be capable of running at but I find when I run at this ratio my system is unstable, I get reboots (when doing a Sandra burn test) and the occasional file not found etc etc. however if I reduce the ratio to 1:1 it seems to behave itself ! Does anyone have any ideas? It'd be amazing to get my system running at its full performance cheers |

Question from a non Intel literature person.
Why would you want to run the memory at a rate higher than the fsb? Seems like all the memory traffic would be between the cpu and memory and the clocks should be the same???
