XFX 6800GT - Corrupt display
I am building a new PC with the above card on a Gigabyte K8NXP-SLI board
with a Jeantech 500W PSU and a Athlon X2 3800+ chip. On first boot, the display was fine, but for some reason, there would be no display on booting but the card would be no warning beeps saying graphics card not present. Then, after more reboots, red streaks would appear across the screen where any text appeared on the boot screens. Windows was barely legible. Now, after more reboots, the back ground is green and text is unclear. I am currently running F10s bios but this didn't affect the display but did recognise my CPU. The card is in the nearest PCI-E slot to the CPU and I have not adjusted any SLI settings at all. The power cable is attached to the card (but I will admit that I thought that this was only for use in SLI and so did not connect it initially.) Do I need a new card? Or which piece of hadware is faulty? |
