Dual Core Processors & MoBo

I'm planning out my next machine...
Look like AMD 64 (3500 - 3800+)...nForce 4...
I am hoping to have some future upgradeability with the system since
both Intel and AMD will be launching dual core processors in Q2 2005.

Will these require a new mobo or will the new processor fit on an
existing socket/mobo.
I heard rumblings that Intel tested a 600 series dual core on a 775
socket mobo. What about AMD?

Last I heard at the end of December was that no definitive statement had
been made by AMD either way. Don't know about Intel.

It looks like the dual core A64 will use DDR-II rather than DDR so you'll
probably need a new motherboard. The part is going to be designated an
Athlon64FX which means that it's likely to be expensive, the current FX55
is priced at $945, so the cost of a new motherboard won't be all that
significant when you compare it to the price of thre processor and the new
memory that you'll need.
