Default HELP;installing OS on floppiless laptop ?

Hi all,
my situation is that i have a laptop which doesnt have a floppy drive.
It does have a CD and also the usual stuff like serial/parallel/usb
ports.
Can anyone suggest the best/easiest way to access the HD on the
laptop, format it and instal something basic like dos 6.0?

Make a bootable CD with all you need on it. Most popular burning apps
like Nero or Adaptec/Roxio will do this.

You could instead get a laptop IDE adapter like the following to
access it in a desktop system:

With Nero running, it's File- New- [scroll down to] CDROM (boot)-
[browse to source of boot image data/floppy]- ["New" button on top
right]
