floppy drive cable ??glued?
hello,
working on a p54c (100 mhz) amiBIOS '95 many problems 1 of which is the floppy drive ribbon cable seems to have been glued onto the floppy drive controller (onBoard) have another (same type) cable but there appears to be glue which is obstructing pin 1 (it is almost like a permanent jumper.) the light for the a-drive remains on need to know whether it would be safe to remove this blob (there are other points on the old / broken cable with the same material) as though it may have melted? please advise! THANK YOU! -- toAnswerSend2:userName:tjtmd domain:attglobal.net separate these with the at sign |

Some PC assemblers use a glue gun (hot melt adhesive) to stop cables getting disconnected accidentally in transit. Just remove it. |
