Normally they blow out the side with the frame legs that holds the fan in
the center. If it's blowing up, you can feel it with your hand. It may actually work better blowing up -- you can try it both ways if you have a way to read the temperature. -- Ed Light Smiley :-/ MS Smiley :-\ Send spam to the FTC at Thanks, robots. That's usually what you want - air blown onto heatsink. The label goes up. Note, a quick google shows a ys-tech 80mm fan review where the blades are opposite the way one might expect, which may have been the source of your confusion. http://www.pchardware.co.uk/swifttechandtornado.php Bryan |

Cheers for advice. Usually where you see the wires (and usually the label as well) is the underside. This side is where air expels from and should be facing downwards to the heatsink. The other (top) side of the fan usually is smooth at the center - sometimes domed shaped or just flat and rounded towards the edges. |

Actually, placing the fan so it sucks air from the heatsink works very good
also. However,i tried this once with an adjustable fan,but adding more rpm did not seem to help in this kind of setup. So blowing cool air on the heatsink seems the best way to go. There should be an arrow on the side from the fan pointing to the exhaust way, also 1 arrow for the direction it spins. "888" schreef in bericht ... I remember someone giving an excellent analogy to which is the best oritentation to place your fan: on a hot summers day, would you like to stand at the front or at the back of a fan? |
