Default MKV720 monitor, adjusting resolution and colors

Hi:

My friends son purchased her a Compaq system running Windows ME with the
MV720 monitor about 4 or 5 years ago. Yesterday she finally let me turn it
on for her.

The control panel shows 640 x 480 with 16 colors.

I cannot change (move) the arrow up the scale for higher resolution and the
control panel shows only 16 colors as an option.

The data on the MV720 shows 1280 x 1024 as the highest resolution.

HOW CAN I CHANGE THESE MONITOR VALUES.

FRED
