Default Help needed printing steps

I am planning to send a TIFF/ JPG file for printing. I can get the
printer profile from them.
I am planning to make all correction to file at my place and send
file. Printing guy must be able to open the file adobe and print
without
making any changes to file.

I have theoritical idea about CMM. But do not know the specifics of
CMM with respect to printers.
Pls help me with the specifics.

Some of the doubts I have are

*)Should I edit the file with sRGB or Printer profile?
*)If am not editing in sRGB, who converts from sRGB to printer
profile. Is it printing application or printer?
*)At what stage to use the paper profile?
*)What are the setting to be made in printer application in general?

Thanks
Ramesh
