Default Still have ink in cartridge...but no printing

I'm using a Canon MPC 190, and since I get this warning "Black ink level
low", the draft and normal
printing mode is not working at all (only black ink).
At the begining I believed it was because of the lack of ink.... but I
turned the priting mode to "Photo pro", and then I've been able to print in
black. It means that black ink is not missing.

Can I tune something to avoid printing in photo mode, even text and without
changing my black cartridge (which is not empty!) ?

Thanks for any clue
Steely
