I've just bought an asus pundit barebones system and put in it
120Gb hard drive, 512Mb RAM, 2.8Ghz Pentium 4 and an 8x DVD-RW (NB
this system has no floppy drive).

What does NB mean?

It's short for some Latin term which means "Be aware".

NB = note bene = observe well.

Thanks Virg, I only did two terms of Latin and that was in 1972, I don't
remember that much, I was 11 years old.

Ummm..... Amo, amas, amat, amamus, amatis, amant.

Something like that.

Not "note bene" but "Nota Bene", which is the imperative of "notare" =
taking note.

I did something similar at a similar age, and failed miserably,
thus persuading my parents that I was not suited for a classical
education and could take extra maths and physics. Don't ask when.

At any rate: nota bene; cave canem; veni, vidi, vici; Carthago
delenda est; et cetera.
