Someone else with a A7V333 USB 2.0 problem
see:
http://groups.google.com.au/groups?h...oups.com#link7 I did a search on Google and found that someone had "recovered" their A7V333 USB 2.0's ports function by going into the device manager and uninstalling the VIA USB host controller, shutting down, and then re-starting the PC. After restarting Windows XP loaded up what appeared to be the same drivers that had been removed. This worked for me :-) Now all the USB 2.0 ports were working fine. No Problem!! I am back to 4 USB 2.0 ports and 2 USB 1.1 ports ALL OK!! Mal Franks wrote: I'm using Windows XP Home SP1. According to the system manufacturer the top two USB ports on the backplate are USB 1.1 and the lower two are USB 2.0. Whichever port I connect it to I get the following message: "A hi-speed USB device is plugged into a non-hi-speed USB hub" Going into properties for the USB 2.0 Root Hub it says that it has 4 ports free. |

Mal,
One other thing you might try is to get a USB header bracket and hook it to the internal USB connector on the board. There are two on the board, one for v1.1 and the other for v2.0. Check to see if the internal v2.0 header will also report the hi-speed USB 2.0 device plugged into slow-speed hub. Ilan, You could end up with 8 ports if you were to use additional header on the mobo giving you 4 of each.
