Default NVidia - Suse Linux

Hello all,

I just can't get my NVidia card to work under linux. I read hundreds of
newsgroup postings, mainly in German, which I don't understand very well...
Does anyone has an idea of how I can configure my graphicscard?

NVidia GeForce4 Ti4200 with 8xAGP
Suse 8.0

When I request "sax2 -p" to get the PCI/AGP info, I get following output:
Chip: 0 is - unknown unknown 01:00:0 0x10de 0x0281 AGP
fbdev

Why is this unknown unknown, while 0x10de is NVidia, and 0x0281 is my
correct graphicscard?
What do I have to do?
Anyone a good idea for more troubleshooting?

Thanks a lot!!

SuSE uses Sax this means that you need to install a new driver from nvidia.
It is available at:

ftp://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x86/1.0-4496

There is more help on nvidia's web page.
