It does happen sometimes... who knows what effect it could have...

Those gsm's pretty powerfull.

Bye,
Skybuck.

Take it out back, shoot it with a shotgun. Don't get another one. You
will be happier.

You mean, we'll be happier!

PEBKAC. Or it could be a loose screw behind the keyboard.

I was going to suggest a nut!

Well it's pretty easy...

The last time the pc went dead the motherboard was to blame.

Well something must be taking out the motherboard.

There is *nothing* taking out his motherboard. His problem is fabricated
in order to garner attention. This noong has a track record.

Skybuck...
do you have any clues as to the conductivity of plastic (even the shiny
crome-y looking stuff)?

No, but I know what I saw, it short-circuited the electronics, twice.

Bye,
Skybuck.

To answer your question about the plastic stuff I used:

I patched the holes on the side of the case from the inside with sticky
plastic.

The sticky plastic got sucked loose by the fans and the plastic dropped
down
onto the motherboard probably causing a short circuit... and two crashes.

Maybe this caused damage...

Just regular see-through sticky plastic used... from those round rollers.

Plastic can't cause short circuits.

This plastic apperently can, I dare you to try it out

My favorite mystery explanation:

Maybe it was charged with static electricity by all the wind.

That's a very good explanation because did you ever notice how the plastic
sticks to your fingers ?

It's not because of the sticky stuff... it's the non sticky side that sticks
as well.

That's static electricty at work right there !

And we all know that's bad for electronics usually

Bye,
Skybuck.

Hello,

It seems the hardware of my pc is damaged again.

Probably the motherboard.

Sometimes the system crashes during a game.

I cleaned the pc hoping that it would solve the problem but nope.

There are some other symptoms:

1. Memory corruption/crashes.

2. The time runs a few seconds faster and then stops and then continues
again in xp 64.

3. The time skips a second in memtest.

Possible causes for damaged hardwa

1. Overheat in summer.

2. Short-circuit because of plastic stickers patching wholes which came
loose.

3. Lightning strikes.

4. Maybe power surges because of stuck power button or switching on/off
surround sound set.

5. Maybe just bad hardware not ment for heavy use, who knows

Anyway another dead motherboard is scarey... it's not dead yet...

But it's definetly time to eradicate possiblity number one.

So today or tomorrow I will go or phone to local pc shop to see if they have
any good 90 mm rearcase fans... to increase airflow in pc casing.

I like the beautifull graphics in cod4... but I would like to have a
quiet/cool system in the future.

And the chances are pretty high that my future pc will be a cool pc and a
noiseless pc.. which will hopefully last as long as the 386's and 486's pc
did

Bye,
Skybuck.

Take up flower arranging as a hobby. Less expensive when things go
wrong.

Bye,

Michael

Default Hardware damaged again. (Time observation is apperently normal)

Note on the time observation:

Apperently this is normal.

The pentium III with Windows XP Pro behaves in the same way:

It does:

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, Pause, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, Pause, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, Pause, etc.

Default Hardware damaged again.

Do you have a brain me wonders ?

If the motherboard is damaged then it will seem like all equipment is
failing since all equipment relies on proper functioning of the motherboard
in the first place

Bye,
Skybuck.
