Here's a kick in the head - If I connect the internal header on the
new USB card that I got, to one of the front ports on my Antec case,
my Lexar Jumpdrive works connected there, but only in USB 1.0
mode..... The USB card is a 2.0 card and all the other ports on it
work as 2.0 ports if I connect the Jumpdrive to them. Makes me wonder
if their isn't something fishey with those front case USB connectors.

Well, heck with it. I got a $15 add-on USB card, and a $15 internal
memory card reader, and I'm a happy camper.

I got tired of the useless responses grom Gigabyte tech support, and
the non-existant responses from Antec and the vendor where I purchased
the system.

Which is what we said earlier. Maybe you want to try another case! ;-)

No - I hadn't seen that. I'll give that a try. It makes sense because
XP without SP1 or 2 was originally installed on this machine.

THANKS!!!

Well by golly I might just yank the ports on the front of the case and
put a meter to them. It's just a few wires and connectors. The case
itself is a beauty.

Thanks.

I checked continuity from the front case connectors to the connectors
that plug into the motherboard and all seems fine. I didn't yank the
front connectors from the case to inspect them.

I treid deleting all my USB devices and scanning for hardware changes
to restore them. Still no joy with the front connectors ;-(
