Does it have USB2.0? If it does, get a USB2.0 drive case and use that for your drive, assuming a new enough OS. |

Attaching a 40 GB HDD to Computer.
I wana attach a 40 gb HDD to my computer but the problem is that it is

I understand why they don't want people messing with a computer which they have a financial responsibility for, but it would seem you should be able to get their blessing for the purpose of an upgrade? Do they expect you to return to them for upgrades as well? Ken |

The majority of the major 'brand' name computer companies do it...If you open the case, usually ripping some sticker in the process, your warranty becomes void. If you are correct, then THAT is something I would ask about before I purchased a particular brand of computer. My sister recently purchased a HP computer and it had no such sticker preventing access to the interior of the case. This should NOT be construed as a plug (endorsement) for HP!! Ken |
