Default ASUS K8V SE Raid Connector but do not want Raid Array

On my K8V SE MB I would like to install additional HD's.
I have two HD's on SATA connectors (non Raid)
I have two IDE HD's on primary IDE connector.
I have DVD-RW and CD-RW on secondary IDE connector

I would like to add another PATA IDE drive to system. That leaves the IDE
Raid connector.
Can I install a HD on this without setting up a raid array? If so, do I need
to have the drivers and use the "tab" into the raid creation screen?

Tks
Kaz
