ATI Radeon 9600 brightness issues

I have a rather annoying problem that I hopefully someone can help me out
with. I set up my brightness, gamma, etc via the color tab in the control
applet and save the profile. Anytime my system goes to a 3d screensaver or
I exit a game, the brightenss goes back to it's default level (way too
bright). I am using this card with a KDS 17 inch lcd panel.

Any ideas?

Seem to recall lurking and reading someone else haveing a prob with clocks
acting that way and turned out had to do with a powerstrip setting that was
overiding things if game was ran. Areyou using something like ps with a game
profile or something?

Hello,

I am not using Powerstrip or Adobe Gamma or any other utility that would
interfere. It is driving me nuts trying to figure this one out.
