Default errors writing cd's sometimes, also buffer goes low often

hi, have recently got a lite-on 52327s, before i had a pioneer dvd-120 and a
pioneer 106. which i used to do cd's on and all seemed fine, now ive got all
3 in my system, as i want sumthing other than the dvdrw to read discs
constantly, so thats why have got the dvd-rom as well.

since installing the lite-on dive have noticed there bein a lot of skipping
in music i have burnt,
i also noticed the buffer on the cdr goes low very fast, dunno if its just
that writer or what?

my ide setup is as follows:

ide 0:
master: western digital 80gb 8mb HDD. UDMA 5 ULTRA 100
slave: lite-on 52327s cdrw UDMA 2 ULTRA 33

ide 1:
master: Pioneer 106d dvd-rw UDMA 2 ULTRA 33
salve: pioneer 120 dvd-rom UDMA 4 ULTRA 66

any advice?

thanks
