Default nForce driver problems on A7N8X

Oh and the error I'm getting is a BSOD with: A problem has been detected
and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer

UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME

there's a whole load of useless advice here that I've missed out

Are you using a SATA drive? If so, search for "A7N8X data corruption".

I don't know, am I? It's a simple Maxtor 40GB IDE drive. That's just
ordinary ATA isn't it?

OK, I'm a klutz! I had erroneously used a 40-wire IDE cable to connect my
Hard Disk to the motherboard. After I replaced this with an 80-pin cable
and re-installed the nForce drivers, the problem went away.
