New computers

Those of you that have gotten new computers recently what state did
they come from?

I am used to getting mine from TX

I have ordered a new Studio XPS 16 on July 17 and it still hasn't
arrived. They are saying it is a popular model and have moved up the
arrive date to Aug 18 now. I am afraid they are waiting on a return
model and will send that to me instead of a new built one.

Anyone had this experience? I have ordered a large number of computers
from Dell and never had to wait this long.

That is ludicrous! Dell would not ship you a used computer!

You'll get a new one. Disgruntled employees would be too much of a risk
to any company trying to do otherwise, with massive penalties.

Not sure why you'd think they'd ship you a used system when you purchased
new. That would kind of be fraudulent.

Your new system will come from either TX or NC.

That would be fraud if you were not notified of the fact that they
were changing your order to a used system and (possibly) giving you
the option to cancel your order if that was not satisfactory.

Of course, laws vary and I'm not a lawyer. I don't even play one on
TV. (That's mainly because it's hard to play on the TV, especially
these newfangled flat ones. They're so easy to fall off of.)

Yes. Dell doesn't always have the best handle on their shipping dates.
I was told (way back when) at the time I ordered my Dimension 8300
that it might significantly delayed (more than a month). I was given
the option to cancel the order.

Since I needed it and didn't care too much, I just waited. And a few
days later, it darkened my door.

Within the past few months, We have ordered two computers through Dell.
Both of them came through the Fed Ex hub in Nashville TN. I believe that
they were assembled overseas and airfreighted to Nashville to be put in the
system.

Thank you all so much for the responses. I had gotten one that arrived
with the wrong hard drive in it. I had to call customer service to
return it and ordered this one at that time. I just could not
understand the long delay. I got another email today telling me that
it will be the 18th of Aug. now and I had to verify that or they would
cancel the order. I called and they said it would be the 25th. I have
no clue when it will come now.
