Default Genuine bios from a web site not recognised by board?

Hi

This is not my day. First is the early Bootup problem, now cant even
update the bios as was hoping that might fix the problem.

Downloaded newest bios form
http://www.asus.com/support/download...odelName=A7V8X

for a7v8x mambo and gives message that bios is not recognized!

WOW. What does that mean?

HELP!!

Starting at the beginning, it'd be good to get the stupid questions
out of the way... we get all kinds here and can't guess what you're
doing yet, or if it's Asus' fault.

Did you unzip the file?

Are you flashing from DOS or Windows?

Have you followed this page:
http://www.asus.com/support/english/...ios/intro.aspx

Are you sure you have an A7V8X, not an A7N8X?

Have you tried flashing the 2nd to newest version, to see if that
works?
