Default Optical mice and games

How responsive are optical mice when it comes to playing games? I have several
old arcade style games on my computer in which the mouse is used as a
trackball. Some of the games have a built in inertia effect so that if you
give the mouse a quick shove in one direction the object on the screen will
actually keep moving for a second or two after you've stopped moving the mouse,
just like a real trackball.

Thanks

I bought the 510. Great mouse. Kinda pricey at 49.99 but for me it's not an
issuse because It's got 8 programmable buttons that are perfect for a one-armed
gamer.

Yeah the MX700 kicks arse, have one, but not sure how it competes to
the corded MX510 ?, thats got better sampling or somthing.

Anyway i can play just fin online and am up in the top scores with
kills, in no time.
