sound recording prob on A7N8X-X
Hi,
Hope somone here can help me. I've got a new system with this mobo and though the install seemed to go fine and I have nice sound playback, I am having trouble recording sound from my pc microphone. When using Windows Sound Recorder or Nero's Wave Editor, I can record some sound but it is barely audible. In Control Panel it says my Preferred Device for sound recording is NVIDIA(R) nForce (TM) Audio. When clicking on volume control a message is displayed: "There is a problem with your sound hardware. You may install mixer devices from the add/remove Hardware Wizard in Control Panel." System is: Win2k Sp4 Athlon 3000xp Any help would be much appreciated! |

The Window's Mixer has 3 sections.Playback/Record and other. Check the faders are high enough for all your purposes. Mixer/Options/Properties Note:The mic fader should be,"Muted" in the playback section as this stops acoustic feedback/karaoke and if not muted can disable the Mic recording function on most modern sound cards/chips.
