Unexpected Exception Error in Nero 5.5.9.17

Using an ASUS-5224A CD recorder and Memorex 48x CDRs, I occasionally
get "unexpected exception" errors when data verification begins. I
check the CD with the CDCheck program, and there are no errors found
(using CRC comparison between source and CD). I have DMA turned off
for this drive because I was getting burn errors before.

Below is the "Nero history" for one incident tonight when I got the
error. Does this tell me what's wrong? I think the
"KEY_MEDIUM_ERROR" is what's causing the problem, what does that mean?
Obviously nothing related to data burned to the CD, because CDCheck
can't find any errors when doing a CRC comparison.
