Default 7800gt problem with vga adapter?

I just assembled a new PC last night with parts I bought from newegg.
I put together an SLI system with two pny 7800gt cards. My problem is
the monitor, which is vga, displays everything in only black and blue.
I'm wondering if it has to do with the fact that I'm using the supplied
dvi-to-vga adapter. I tried all of them and they all do the same
thing. As far as my setup goes:

Asus SLI-Premium mobo
1GB 400 RAM
AMD 4200 X2
Viewsonic 19" monitor
(2) PNY Verto GeForce 7800GT gpus

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm having a hell of time
finding out any info on the web about this.

Just a thought - do you have the lastest BIOS for your mobo?

Each PNY 7800GT should have two DVI ports and thus two DVI-VGA adapters. So
you tried all four adapters with identical results? Have you tried swapping
the two cards? If the image remains the same, I'd suspect the monitor cable
or the monitor itself.

Is the monitor also new, shipped from Newegg? A massive 19" CRT may not
survive shipment as a parcel.

Thanx guys,
I broke down and bought a monitor that has dvi and everything works
fine. I guess something was messed up with the VGA adapters(all 4 of
them). I had to buy a new monitor anyway since I'm giving my old rig
and monitor to my brother for Christmas. I love new technology, but
having to buy new stuff every two years gets kinda pricey.

Glad to hear you got the problems solved, even though it set you back a
couple of hundred.
