ok i have heard about people soft-modding the 9500 to a 9700 but i was
wondering, is there anything you can do with a 9200? non se and non
pro? like what is the highest you can go with core and memory speeds ?
if any of you know please respond

My System:
Gigabyte GA-7VA KT400
Athlon 2700+
1280Mb PC2700 DDR
Gigabyte Radeon 9200 128Mb DDR or GV-R92128DH
SB Live! Plat. 5.1
HP Pavilion M70 monitor

let me know if you need any other information

Any time you overclock you can go as far as you can go. Take two chips
that look identical, have the same lot numbers, everything. One comes
from the center of the die and is well within the dimensional tolerances
and has a lot of headroom--another is from the edge of the die and near
the limits of the dimensional tolerances (optics issue--no lens has a
completely flat field) and so has a lot less headroom. One will
overclock quite a lot while the other will barely overclock at all. Run
the clock speed up in the smallest increments you can achieve until you
start getting instability or artifacts and then back off a couple or
three steps and you're there.

A 9200 should have a good deal of headroom--between the maturity of the
production process for the R2x0 chips and the fact that
it's underclocked a bit compared with the 8500s there should be a good
deal of headroom there.

You might want to go over to http://www.rage3d.com--I suspect you'll
find some relevant information.
