Default Packard Bell 7900

I have just recently started searching for information concerning the
Packard Bell 7900. I had given my parents the PB 7900 back in 1999,
before I left the U.S. for five years. My thinking was the grandkids
could get some use of it. So, I set it up with free-internet, some
virus protection, and some multi-media applications, and assumed in a
few months......the grandkids would have it destroyed.

To my surprise, when I arrived back in the U.S., the DAMN PB 7900 was
still running!? It was running a little slower, due to all the junk
the grandkids had downloaded, but it was still running! So, since the
PB 7900 lasted this long, I decided to clean it up and give it some
new life.

I grabbed an old Windows 98 CD, wiped the PB 7900 hard drive clean,
and re-installed Windows 98 back to the way it was when I first bought
it. DONE! Fast, clean, like new!

However.......now I can't seem to get the modem to work??? At first I
thought it was the drivers, but when the drivers are picked, it still
doesn't work. Maybe it's the Modem that went bad???? But that can't be
it....the damn thing has lasted 5 years!!! It has to be the Drivers.

Has anyone had this problem before with the PB 7900? If so, can anyone
guide me to locating the drivers to get my….. excuse me….. " my
parents" old, trustworthy, workhorse PB 7900 going again?

I know there have been negative things said about PB's, but from my
experience, and the experience of grandkids ranging from ages 5 yrs –
15 yrs old, the PB 7900 still has some life in it.
