Default dvd benq 1620 pro

I have a benq 1620 pro that takes the standard eide 40 pin i think
connectors. I'm planning on getting a new desktop with the SATA
interface and wanted to find out if the newer dvd drives needed to be
SATA compatible or if my old dvd 40 pin drive would work in this new
dell system, a dimension 520 intel.

Thanks,
Craig

All the current packaged systems still have at least one 'eide' port.

You'll need to find out if there is an ide port on the motherboard. There
probably is, since sata dvd drives are rare.
