5600 is significently faster than 4200. I benchmarked a pny ti4600 against
an asus 5600 non-ultra vivo on 3dmark2003 and there was a 1000 point
difference. I would assume the 4200 would be worse. Your IP is in canada
so I assume the $200 is not USD. You mention used. I have bought
refurbished video board before that was DOA on arrival and the vendor
refused to take it back. The fine print said warranty was OEM only ie:
manufacturer. I got it fixed for free, but it cost me shipping one way and
3 weeks time plus hassle of explaining everything to hercules/guillamont
twice and the better business bureau once. If you are buying this from a
friend that upgraded then should be o.k.. Newegg has the asus 5600 ultra
for about 169 USD as I recall. Note sure that that amounts to in canadian.

Thx

indicates that is insignificantly faster?

Interesting...I wonder if that futuremark cheat by nvidia caused the 1000+
difference I saw over the ti4600. I have since picked up the 330 build that
stops the cheat.

whoops again. That would be the GeForce 4 Ti4200-8X.

i just bought a Ti4200 (Sparkle) new for 112 EUR -- ~ 120 $. If you
really need DirectX 9, which I doubt, go for the 5600, but your CPU
has not much reserves. a light overclocked 4200 would server you for a
long time well.
