another software question
I apologise for continually posting questions on this ng that aren't hardware
related but the people on other ng's just don't respond. I've loaded broderbund print shop on an xp machine. It runs fine as long as I'm logged onto the machine as the administrator. When another user tries to use the program it opens but then locks up and has to be terminated via windows task manager. I tried removing the software and reloading it into a location other than the program files folder with the same result. I tried giving the user account administrator rights, loading the software and then changing the user back to a limited account, the software does the same thing. I know there must be a simple fix but I haven't figured out what it is yet. Any suggestions? Once again, thanks in advance for any assistance you can offer. |

Maybe try installing the software as the user, and see what results you
get with that? Jtiche wrote: I apologise for continually posting questions on this ng that aren't hardware related but the people on other ng's just don't respond. your "guest account" likely doesn't have enough privileges to access
the software. You'll have to wade through the local users and groups under manage and make them a member of the power users or administrators group. Right click on my computer and go from there. Sometimes it takes some fiddling. "Jtiche" wrote in message ... I apologise for continually posting questions on this ng that aren't hardware related but the people on other ng's just don't respond. Most AOHELL users I've come across couldn't find their own arses if they were given a map and compass /and/ had their hands tied behind their backs. I've Googled on your email address (most AOHELL users don't know how to mung their email address either) and you've answers to every single question you've posted in "other newsgroups". I suggest you go back and search - or is that too much for an AOHELL user?! I guess that's a stupid question.... Now, /do/ toddle off, there's a good kluser, and go back to posting in the right place. |
