Default Medal of Honor-Allied Assault

System Specs

P4-3.2
1Gig 3200 Dual channel
Ati 9800 pro 412/365
Win XP

Just found MOH Allied Assault in my dest drawer and decided to see how well
it looked on my recent upgrade. I could only play at decent framerates at
1024x768 with all effects set to max. Since this game came out in 2002, dx8
I figured to be able to set at least to 1280x1024 or maybe 1600x1200 with
all settings maxed out.

I think you should be able to get more out of your setup. I still play MOH
almost every night, and still play single player often. It's still a great
game! I get smooth framerates with 4x AA and 8x AF with all detail settings
maxed out, at 1280x1024.

Athlon XP 2.2ghz
512 3200 DDR/ Shuttle AN35N Ultra Mobo
9700 Pro (stock)
XP Pro
5.6 Cat

What about spearhead I cant get it to run with any newer drivers than
the 4.4, Unless I put the opengl driver from the 4.4 in my system
folder then spearhead runs fine with new drivers

Funny thing is medal of honor runs fine just spearhead does this

Have you installed the 1.1 patch for MOHAA ???

I am playing this at the moment with a 9800 Pro on a P4-3ghz with 1gig
of RAM ag 1280x1024 all details maxed out (I haven't enabled AA or AF
though as I think you have to do that through the ATI control panel and
I can't be bothered changing backwards and forwards for different games)

Anyway - I get about a constant 95 frames per second

Yes I have installed all the latest updates for the game the problem
didn't start till after I installed any driver later than the 4.4, so
to play the game I have to put the opengl driver from the 4.4's in the
system folder for spearhead to play but all my other games work
just fine its just spearhead that don't work.I think ati needs to look
in to the problem with there opengl driver and MOH Spearhead and
breakthrough. Right now I'm running the 5.6 and the game wont play it
just starts then crashes to the desktop but MOHAA plays just fine

I haven't had Spearhead on here for a loooooong time, but Breakthrough works
perfectly for me every day. That is actually what i use for multiplayer. The
single player also works great with 5.6 cats. Maybe i will try Spearhead
tonight

I tried spearhead just before - I have played these games in the past
but only recently bought them again (cheap) off ebay to play again.

MOHAA the main game plays at 1280x1024 with all details maxed out just
fine on my P4-3Ghz/9800 Pro/1Gig PC3200 (around 95fps most of the time)

However, playing Spearhead at 1280 with all details maxed out it seems
to range from a max of about 35fps right down to 15fps!!! I only played
it for about 10 mins though (as I want to play them in order and i am
only half way through mohaa.

Odd though - same graphics engine so I don't know why its so much slower
- maybe the textures are bigger or something?
