Default nview problems

I am having a problem using the extended desktop. I have my tv connected to
the tv-out on my video card. im trying to play a video on the tv but cant
get it full screen. it only plays in windowed mode. if i push alt+enter to
switch to full screen the the video will continue to play windowed but will
show up on my monitor in full screen. this used to work fine until i
reformated my computer. i am using windows media player 9 to view the movie.
also isnt there a way for both my monitor and tv to display the exact same
thing? any help would be great.
