Q Flash Problem with new Build
I have just finished building my system with a 8KNXP motherboard. I
want to update the BIOS before I start with an OS installation. No matter what I do I can not, in Q Flash, get the system to either save the current BIOS to a floppy nor update the BIOS with the newest BIOS from a floppy. No matter what I do I get the floppy drive to light up and then make clicking sounds and then I get an error message that says there is "Access Floppy Disc Error" either trying to save the old BIOS or update with a new BIOS. My understanding is that this should update and write without an OS. I have tried a different disc drive, the floppy cable is in correctly, I have tried multiple floppy discs all of which are functional on other computers. Has anyone had a problem like this...or is this a problem with the floppy disc controller on the motherboard?? Howard |
