Are there many other folks out there with this uATX LGA775 board? I must
admit that I've bought it by mistake - I incorrectly assumed that all modern
boards with SATA would support RAID, but this doesn't. Oh well, I'm stuck
with it for the moment.

It seems to function well enough, with a Pentium D 820. The BIOS (updated to
F4) seems rather bereft of things to tinker with, even in the 'advanced'
mode. The way it handles SATA drives is rather odd, as it seems to be trying
to emulate PATA IDE drives.

Aside: (Yeah, I'm a bit disappointed in SATA-II performance. Okay, I wasn't
expecting fantastic gains, as there are the usual physical limitation
imposed by any 7,200RPM drive, but still. Comparing a 250GB WDC SATA-II with
16MB cache with an 80GB WDC PATA with 8MB - they're practically identical in
performance).

The one issue that I do have is that I simply can not get the thing to wake
up from keypress or mouse button. Wake-on-LAN works perfectly. Fully patched
XP/SP2, power options all correctly set in device manager, power options in
the BIOS set, and yes I've even made sure that I'm not using the 'green' USB
port (the one without standby power). It's not that important, but it's
bugging me.

Wake with mouse.
Are you using ACPI S3? That is Suspend To Ram. I also have PME Event
enabled.

I'm using S1, though actually I meant "wake up from shutdown", not "wake up
from standby". So, I'd like it to wake up from shutdown by mouse or
keyboard. Currently what's happening is -

S1 standby, fans don't stop, can wake from LAN, can wake from keyboard and
mouse
S3 standby, fans stop, can wake from LAN, can not wake from keyboard or
mouse
shutdown, fans stop, can wake from LAN, can not wake from keyboard or mouse
