Mad Dog Conqueror FX 5200 Plus PCI 128MB
My computer does not have an AGP slot. Buying a new computer is not an
anawer. Upgrading what I have is the best I can do. Having written that, anyone with pratical experience with a Mad Dog MultiMedia Conqueror FX 5200 Plus PCI 128MB please respond with how you found this videocard to work. Thank you. |

If you cant afford the money to buy a newer system with an AGP slot(a few
hundred dollars), you have absolutely no business spending any money on anything but bills/food/necessities. "Mark Lape" wrote in message news:Q91Mb.18236$sv6.56214@attbi_s52... Mr. Biz,
Thank you for your kind words and your heartfelt concern over me and my little familys financial situation. It is rare today that someone like yourself takes the time, energy, and effort to offer solice and consideration to a complete stranger such as myself. However, you failed to mention in your reply if you had any knowledge or experience to share about the videocard in question. I look forward to anyone's reply who can help me out. Thank you. My father has an older system with integrated Intel video. There is no AGP slot. He wanted to watch full-screen DVD's, but the onboard video lacked the horsepower to do so. I installed a Mad Dog FX5200 PCI 128MB card in his system, and it worked like a charm. Full screen, 32-bit color, without any hesitation. We got it for about $79.99 if I remember correctly. It's been installed since just before Christmas, and has been working without any problems. |

PCI 64mb / 128mb -makes no difference, get cheapest 5200. I think you can find them for about $65~75 on line... but if CompUSA has it cheap - go for it. The 5200 is the BEST PCI video card you can get, I was surprised what it could do. It's still a POS video card, but you have no other choice. -- Remember when real men used Real computers!? To Messrs. Greer, Hank, and Darthy:
Thank you gentlemen for adding your input to my question. After updating my MB BIOS just to be safe, the installation went flawlessly, the card was recognized by XP, and after installation I was able to download the most recent drivers 5.3.03 from the Nvidia site. Thanks again, Mark "Darthy" wrote in message ... On Sun, 11 Jan 2004 00:55:13 GMT, "Mark Lape" wrote: My computer does not have an AGP slot. Buying a new computer is not an anawer.
