it beats my G4Ti4200 in 3dmark 2003 by 1000 points...but it is slower..have
seen it lock-up and when it comes back is totally pixalated on the vid...it
staggers under COD and MOHHA...this card should go..I just have a dud I
believe but it sure turns you off. If you read some reviews they say Nvidia
hasn't made a decent video card since the G4Ti series..4200,4400,4600 and
4800.This card in 2 machines has also given me an XP error. Like I said this
one is definite dud.

... depending on what you do... or look at ATI cards... or look at the
FX5700 Ultra/Non Ultra.

If the games you do don't ask much 3d performance of a card, get a
matrox P650 or an P750...

Get the new FX 5700 Ultra. Around $199 (US) and should serve you nicely.

Or he could spend $180~220 and get the FASTER FX-5900XT

Recommened video card to get, over your MX440 (gag)

Check this out:
http://www.tomshardware.com/graphic/..._guide-12.html

And what is your CPU/RAM situation? If your CPU is too slow, it could
be a waste.

$075~120 = Ti4200
$120~160 = ATI 9600Pro or 9600XT
$180~220 = FX5900 (XT/SE/plain)
$240~300 = ATI 9800Pro

check out www.newegg.com or www.pricewatch.com

I just got rid of the FX5600-256....put in the ATI 9600 XT..holySH**....I am
not going back to Nvidia. The power and clarity is way beyond what I have
ever seen.

DDR-SD RAM or plain jain SD-RAM?

Get the ATi9600Pro/XT for $135~160... it should be fine, I believe you
said youre not hard core gamer...

Then use Firewire for video editing. Don't use analog... its crap in
comparison.

read links below that I provided.
