Default Geforce Now review by Skybuck Flying.

I just returned from hyper-cyber space, back into my "normal" cyberspace.

What I mean with hyper-cyber space lol is:

Windows 7 on USB stick with Geforce Now installed on it, both look very good.

This allows my DreamPC to play cloud based games installed on NVIDIA's cloud servers/geforce now.

Games look pretty beautifull, I can't help but feel a certain disconnect with those games, not my thing anymore or it doesn't feel like their my games..

Royal game played like a shooter, circle closes in, was impressive.
Paladins was funny.

Most games on there are just way too complex to get into it.

But anyway... the technology works... it works very well... much better than I expected.

It feel very schizofrenic... suddenly my existing PC turns into a SuperDreamPC.

I played on 1280x1024 and the graphics were many times CRYSTAL CLEAR and very fluently... and almost no lag, only at the start when playing destiny 2 there was some input lag, maybe specific to that game.

Rest of the games were very smooth. Mostly cartoonish games though.

I send some feedback... I would still like to see World of Warships on their cloud instead of World of Tanks so I can compare to what I am used too... it's also a more agressive game and more for a mature audience.. most games on there for kiddies, except maybe casino royal/shooter game or whatever it was called.

Anyway I am glad I am back into my normal/broken windows 7... huge install base of software here... feels good to be back.

Felt like a trip into hyper--cyber-space ! =D Quite a funny experience.

I think today maybe I have seen the future of gaming !

Pretty radical !

More needs to be integrated though, user accounts and login procedures and game installations and updated and such.

If I were game developer I would definetly immediately seek big cooperation with nvidia, cause who knows... this cloud based gaming might go somewhere.... it might go incredibly big...

Or maybe it will fail cause it's kinda weird/feels kinda disconnected so psychology wise I dont know.

I would/will probably be back though if the games on there are a bit better and such.

For now game I would like to try out is republic fallen order and star wars battlefront 2.

Some really impressive games, see if that works too.

I am not really waiting for cartoonish games on a cloud.

Anyway it's a mixed bag of things/games. Feels kinda messy/confused.

Definetly needs more filters to filter out games that are not my taste...

But it's a start... the start of geforce now.

You should definetly take a look if possible.

I had to use windows 7 with platform updates and patches, so that is why I used the usb stick with windows 7 on it... it's more advanced/better patch then my main one.

I am scared to install visual studio community 2019 on my non-platform windows 7 thingy... cause it will mess with operating system files.

Anyway for now I go back to my mario porting... that kinda gives me more pleasure in a way figuring out how that works instead of these cartoony games..

Don't need vs 2019 community edition anyway for now 2010 will suffice for now...

Though would/could be interesting to try out some new c++ language features or so and some code for a real mario nes emulator... cool youtube videos on there.

Anyway on my new computer will definetly install visual studio 2019 as soon as possible but after windows updates are installed. Dont use it much but I wanna see/test it out.

Anyway... I am kinda into retro gaming at the moment... so Geforce Now kinda comes at a bad time for me ! LOL. But maybe in future !

Actually that is not a bad idea.

Nvidia could also try and create a "retro-gaming" cloud.

In some ways that makes more sense than "current-gen" or "previous-gen" or "next-gen" cloud.

Cause most people probably have new hardware and playstations anyway.

But playing old games that gets a bit tricky...

Not sure why I was allowed to play for so long. I thought it was just 1 hour a day... but apperently it's 1 hour per game.

Or it's just limitless at moment to test it out, dont know... that also kinda feels confusing.

Had to put passwords into steam and such... not sure if regular gamers would do that and risk their steam/game assets... kinda weird. I think nvidia should communicate a bit better if they can see/intercept passwords and why not and what they do with it. I guess they can and that is kinda weird.

It also kinda feels like a VPN thing. That could be interesting giving users their own "cloud space" so they can install whatever game they want.

But then nvidia might run into copyright issues =D and that is kinda a deal breaker to some degree !

Can't try out the stuff I really want to try out !

Anyway enough for now, it was interesting experience, glad I did that !

Maybe see you Geforcers Nows in the future or maybe not only time will tell ! =D

Bye,
Skybuck.
