Default Video driver change question

The usual advice given is to remove old driver then install updated one,
but if this is done, I assume you can't use Windows XP's Rollback
option, or can you? Can you just use "Update Driver" and then get the
advantage of the Rollback option?

Regards and thanks in advance

XP keeps a copy of all the drivers you've ever installed, so even if you
delete the current driver, XP still has a copy for rollback purposes.

- It's generally best to *NOT* allow Windows to update your drivers.
Things have improved a bit in Windows 7 in that regard, but it's still
considered "best practice" to update the drivers yourself. Unless
you're clueless.

- The "rollback" feature isn't very reliable. It works in a pinch, but
the best defense is a good image backup. Create an image before the
driver update and if there's a problem simply restore your image.
